Learning who you are...

You change on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. These changes are subtle, small, not noticeable until they show up right in front of you. So what do I mean by this?

Our lives change over time, we grow up, age, have relationships, different jobs, children, moving house etc etc. We experience new things, interact and face new opportunities.

Who we are at 18 doesn't mean we will be the same person at 30 or 60. It doesn't mean we don't love or relate to the things we have been through and loved.

For example when I was 16 I had a pair of knees high denim boots, they were AMAZING! Now I am 38 I still love those boots, but I wouldn't wear them now, my style has changed, and I would never be able to walk in them to that point!! That doesn't mean to say I don't love those boots! They are a part of me. They are a part of who I was back then but right now I'm happy with my uggs or comfy trainers.

So my style has changed.....

My likes and loves have changed....

To be able to be happy with who we are we need to be able to accept and love ourselves for who we are right now and know that every day, week, month and year we are going to change again.

Be happy with who you are right now!

To be able to work out who you are you need to do this exercise....

DRAW 3 CIRCLES in a straight line with the outer two just overlapping the middle one.

The left hand side circle is things you used to like as a child, teenager.

The right hand side circle is things you like now as an adult.

The middle circle is where you put everything that fits in both circles.

So for example playing dress up will go in the left and going to a pub/club will go in the right but hanging with friends would go in the middle.

This exercise gives you a real focus as to what you have enjoyed in the past and which bits you have taken with you as you've grown.

Write down things that will make you happy. Music you like. Films. Activities. Hobbies. Places. Literally Anything!

You can write anything in these circles. They are private to you! There is no judgement and no one to criticise you!

Be Honest and true to yourself.
