How the mission began...

Firstly let me introduce myself, I am Vicki, AKA Mother Hen. Back at the beginning of Lockdown, I started my own personal blog, including snippets of our lives, with our chickens, children and daily life. However mainly it was because I had found my road to recovery after suffering with Mental Health for 20 years. Depression, PND, Anxiety, GAD, and Social Anxiety. I have found my tiny light shining at the end of the tunnel, and I know how dark that tunnel was before. Moving forward 6 months, and I am now working on my self development daily, building myself up and coping with daily life so much easier. So I made the decision that I was going to use this new found strength to help as many people as I could to find their lights at the end of their tunnels and start a whole new chapter in their life.

THE MOTHER HEN MISSION

With 1 in 4 people suffering with mental health daily and over 450 million worldwide, its not just something we can brush under the carpet anymore, its not something we should criticise, it shouldn't have a stigma surrounding it. We should be accepting and HELPING these individuals to find a better way of life and find happiness again.

So what I want to do is to be able to create self care and mindfullness packs, to the vulnerable and low income. I am a low income family, and when looking on the internet for help and guidance, although the support is out their sometimes it the little things that people just cant afford, that kick starts their journey. For me, it was a notebook and pen, a candle and a pamper kit. Now that costs in the region of about £8, but £8 can be a weeks worth of packed lunch for the the children, it can be a weeks bus fare or main meals for an adult and when money is tight, especially during the times we are going through then I feel that everyone deserves a new start and a little helping hand!

Please donate if you can. Even just £1 can help to bring a moment of happiness to someone suffering with Mental Health, knowing that others care.
